Villa Airanne – a beautiful Giantlog villa respects the surrounding nature

Written by Pellopuu ajankohtaista | 01.03.2024

In Jyväskylä, a wonderful Giantlog villa has been built on the shore of Lake Vesankajärvi, on the family estate of Mia-Riitta Niemi. The villa was named Villa Airanne, which tells about the history of the family, and the whole idea of the villa was built around the family's beloved dinner table brought from the village of Airanne from Sortavala, Karelia, as well as Mia-Riitta's grandmother's rocking chair. The complex that combines elegantly modern design, a spectacular Giantlog structure, natural landscapes and Finnish tradition is worth seeing!

The villa is located on the shore of a cape, where it is surrounded by a lake on both sides. The surrounding nature through the large windows is a central part of the villa's interior design.

"The location is so wonderful that it deserved to have a log villa made of Giantlog, respectful of nature. After I learned about the Giantlog, I immediately fell in love with it and knew that this is exactly what I needed to get to this location," says Mia-Riitta.

Mia-Riitta had a vision of the cabin that has led throughout the project, and the designers of Pellopuuu and Tiimatalot have been valuable help in refining and implementing the plans. A lakeside sauna from Tiimatalot was built on this same plot a couple of years earlier, so with this new project Mia-Riitta contacted a familiar Tiimatalot representative, who introduced her to the Giantlog solution. With the help of professional designers, Mia-Riitta's vision turned into a functional entity. Large windows to the lake open into all living areas of the villa, both the high living room and the several bedrooms in the loft.

"I’d like to thank Pellopuu and Tiimatalot for the good cooperation. It was nice to do this project together with them, and I felt that I was not left alone at any point. Expertise and design skills are both really high, but I especially appreciate the customer service spirit and partnership – genuine commitment to the customer's project", Mia-Riitta praises the well-functioning cooperation.

The idea came about in the spring of 2023. After the project began to roll forward, the foundations were laid in September, and the villa was finished in December of the same year. Mia-Riitta herself was there to watch the assembly of the log frame, which went smoothly and quickly. The logs were well marked and had the insulation already underneath, so they just needed to be lifted into place. The log frame rises quickly from the 360 mm high Giantlog. Tiimatalot was responsible for the other elements of the villa package.

In addition to Giantlog, materials and interior products have been chosen for the villa with domesticity and quality as the main selection criteria.

"Finnish lake scenery with a touch of luxury. I wanted to respect nature and bring it into the interior of the cabin. The plot has been kept natural, without flowerbeds or similar, just the forest in its natural state and a beautiful lake view," Mia-Riitta describes.

Finnish luxury is present also in the lakeside sauna and a large outdoor hot tub, as well as extensive recreational opportunities in the heart of nature. Now that it's finished, the villa is available for rent.
